Main Responsibilities
CONTEXT
Source of Asia supports international companies entering and growing in Vietnam and ASEAN, as well as Vietnamese companies expanding into overseas markets. We combine market intelligence, go-to-market strategy and hands-on commercial execution to turn market opportunities into business results.
As a Market Expansion Project Manager, you will lead assigned client engagements from business development and solution design through project delivery and account growth. You will be the primary client contact, coordinating SOA specialists, other Business Units and external partners to achieve quality, profitability and client satisfaction.

Works closely with : Business Development, Market Approach & GTM Strategists, Sales Representation, Marketing & Digital, and relevant SOA Business Units
Location : Ho Chi Minh City; travel in Vietnam and ASEAN as required
OBJECTIVES
- Deliver exceptional client satisfaction through high-quality project outcomes.
- Maximize project profitability and efficient utilization of internal and external resources.
- Develop client accounts through renewals, upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Contribute to ME revenue growth by converting opportunities into successful, profitable mandates.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-sales & Client Management
- Work with Business Development and the ME Director during client discovery, briefing, solution design, proposal scoping, costing and negotiations; progressively take greater ownership as capability develops.
- Serve as the main contact for assigned clients, clarify objectives and expectations, maintain communication and manage account relationships.
- Identify follow-on needs and coordinate renewal, upsell and cross-BU opportunities with BD and the ME Director.
End-to-End Project Management
- Translate agreed scopes into delivery plans with clear workstream owners, milestones, deliverables, budget and quality criteria.
- Mobilize and coordinate ME specialists, other SOA Business Units and outsourced service providers; agree responsibilities and monitor partner performance.
- Own overall delivery quality and timeliness; review outputs before client submission, manage risks and implement corrective actions.
Project Financial Management
- Manage and report project-level P&L, tracking revenue, direct costs, allocated resources and gross margin against approved budgets.
- Monitor resource utilization and expenditure; flag financial risks, control scope changes and recommend actions to protect margin.
Performance Review & Account Growth
- Provide structured project status reports, performance reviews and actionable recommendations to clients and ME management.
- Review results against agreed objectives, adjust execution plans where needed and identify opportunities for subsequent mandates.
Requirements
- 2-5+ years of relevant experience in project management, market entry, international business or consulting, including client-facing project delivery.
- Experience in trade promotion, investment promotion or advisory for foreign-invested enterprises entering Vietnam and/or Vietnamese enterprises expanding overseas.
- Strong project planning, client/account management, commercial judgment, stakeholder coordination and risk management.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and outsourced service providers; project costing and gross-margin awareness.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, initiative and solution-oriented decision-making across parallel projects.
- Excellent business English and Vietnamese; French is a plus. ASEAN project experience is an advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Delivery: quality, timely milestones, scope compliance and achievement of agreed client/project objectives.
- Financial: budget control, accurate project P&L reporting, margin against approved baseline and efficient resource use.
- Client: satisfaction, responsive communication and continuity of assigned accounts.
- Business contribution: documented support to proposals, renewal, upsell and cross-selling opportunities.
- Operations: reporting discipline, early risk escalation and effective corrective actions.
Targets are set by mandate scope, complexity, approved budget and assigned authority. The PM is accountable for project financial management within approved parameters, not for sales outcomes controlled by other parties.
